Cross country chargeability worked for me but you have to be persistent in sending the docs couple of times ; call them or take an appointment with IO as last resort. I got it in 3 months after using this option. I had an RFE for using AC21 but finally got it approved

My lawyer filed the I-485, EAD and AP package for me and my wife. She put a G-28 notice for each application (with our and her signatures). She missed signing the AP G-28 for my wife. I asked her about this. She said it should be fine. They would not consider her notice of representation for this particular case, and would mail the AP approval directly at our home address.
I hope we are fine and our application doesn't get rejected since we had one check for all the applications.

A few months of bank statements (with most recent balance)+ your tax docs for last year+ W-2 and most importantly a letter from your employer saying how long you have been there, salary and benefits, if any - should suffice.

If I were you, I would send a letter with the facts. I do not see a downside to this. On the upside, if the employer decides to settle you could potentially get some of your money back.

Hi one question,,,if I go home to my country to study using H4 while my GC is pending,then suddenly the GC was sent to my sister here in US,can my sister just mail my GC to me in my country so that if i go back here in the US,i can present my GC to the US immigration???uh!im confussed!thanks!

My lawyer told me the backlog is 400K. As an European, I am expecting to wait between 2 to 3 years for my GC. Anything sooner would be a nice surprise!

Here is my senario
I am in my 6th year of H1 which expires in Aug 2007.
I have my Labor (PERM) and I140 aprroved from my current employer.
I would like to tranfer my H1 to different employer .
can we apply for tranfer and 3 year extension of h1 to new employer with approved current labor(PERM) and 140(approved)
or should I need to tranfer my h1 forst and wait till FEB 2007 to apply my extension with approved labor(PERM) and 140 (approved ) from my current employer.
I really need your advise on this issue.
please help on this gurus.

While the poll can only show what we would want if we had our way, I would request our members to step back give it a thought and be a bit realistic. Did we not have only legal immigration issues in the bill last December. Why do you then hope that the house would suddenly change their mind and provide us a superfast ride to a green card.
A poll like this one would show the similar lopsided numbers like say what Lou Dobbs gets on his polls. Reason is - mostly people who want a more reasonable wait time for permanent residence subscribe to this forum.
I myself would vote to have a bill separately for us. But does that do us any good. Think about this. The current bill has good provisions for legal immigrants. Which of the two options would you choose.
(a) Would you want to oppose and kill this legislation because it provides undocumented workers with an opportunity to become legal and thereby cut your nose to spite your face.
(b) Would you first see the current bill to the end and then consider other options only if it dies.

Yes forwarded the copy to the lawyer this morning.I have an appointment with lawyer Friday morning regarding this..So for lawyer office didn't received anything from uscis.
Here is my backround
1)Worked for Company A from 2003 to 2008.
2)Company A applied I-140 and approved April 2006. AOS 485 filed on July 2007. Got EAD but never used it
3)September 2008 I have Joined employer “B” by transferring H1B (Valid until Aug 21st 2010).
4)Employer A revoked 140 which triggered 485 denials in October 2008.
5)Applied MTR and it was approved in NOVEMBER 2008 and 485 re-opened.
This is the only major concern I have.Though I have approved MTR and 485 re-opened, but my online status of 485 still showing denied.
My AP approved last month.......my wife EAD,AP approved last month.I am the primary..strange
I know I have moderate control over this situation.Just having good faith & hope.This whole thing H1-B,DL,GC,EAD,AP & visa stamping ..etc what a pain for some people.Very sad.For uscis error(485 denial wrongly) I am not only lost money( closee to 5k) also lost "n" no of days of sleep back in 2008 and now :mad:

DOS and USCIS are slow. But it would be really helpful if the IV code team can provide some update on our site. I believe over 2.5 hours have passed since the last update regarding some update in 1 hour. I guess we can't do anything if it takes more time but an update always helps! Thank you.

Just Kidding - as long as you are wearing decent clothes no one should reject your visa (which otherwise should have been approved) for wearing a jeans or for not wearing formal dress.
But when someone created a thread for this - let me share "one dress" people shouldn't wear.- this is something you would want to avoid, this was told to me 9yrs back when i first came to this country and appeared for Interview first time.

Thanks for finding this out. Anyway, who in hell would file for a labor certification when companies are laying off. As per the rules companies cannot apply for labor certification for 6 months from last layoff.

Child will be GC holder by birth, if both parents are GC holders. Child must make a trip to US before he/she turns two and trip must be with mother.
Child will, of course, need passport. But no visa.
This is one of the few exceptions when person does not need visa to travel.
