Yeah.. the quality is so bad -- I'm wondering how this is possible, right now at least. They would have to be space invader to get a pic that would be readable. I'm chalking this up to media spin to make people panic.

if your applications are pending for over 6 months (approvable and your PD isc urrent for this long), file a writ of mandamus. Thats the only thing I have seen that moves USCIS to approve such old applications that are hiding behind the 'under background check' flag. Note that FBI namecheck is also now required to be completed within 180 days, so there is no excuse for an application to remain approvable but not approved beyond those timelines. talk to a good lawyer and pursue your case aggressively.

You can search for the senator's name and see which district he/she represents on a map on wikipedia. If you know someone who lives in that area request that person to call. It makes an even bigger impact if a constituent calls.

I am exactly in the same situation.....EB2, I40 approved, PD June 2006, and filed 485 in the july 2007 mess... I changed my job immediately after 6 months passed in March 2008....I have not informed USCIS about job change (AC21)......and my port of entry was Washington DC (IAD) airport......
I have travellled twice using the AP, once in April 2008 and once in December 2009.....went through typical two step exit process from immigration......first time, I was asked who do I work for ---- I told the name of the new company and said I used to work for XX compnay (filing company).....no follow up questions or documents were asked for.....second time no questions at all.....
Both times, I got a feel from what they were checking is that all they check is whether your I-485 is pending or not in their system......

My wife's EAD has not yet been approved. It has been 92 days since the receive date. We had an infopass appointment today. I did not apply for EAD.
The officer we met with mentioned that the EAD is issued only after the biometrics are done. I highly doubt this is the norm. Our FP is scheduled for Nov 21st. he said that the service center will electronically send the photo/fp to nebraska. Only then can I expect to see any movement on the EAD application.
I have heard that your FP/biometrics does not have anything to with EAD. However, this officer gave us information that is totally contrary to what we have seen in recent times. He mentioned that this is the latest procedure. He suggested that we should schedule another infopass appointment only If we do not get the EAD 3-4 weeks after the biometrics.
Any inputs from people with similar experience?

I'm due for my H1 visa extn as it is going to expire in Apr-2010 and my employer is going to do it anytime soon. I have heard that these days USICS is extending the H1 based on the project end date mentioned on Purchase Order, if that is the case then
[1] does it mean that we can get extn only for 6 months or so instead of 3 yrs [if your I-140 is approved]?
[2] And after six months do we again have to file for extn and pay all the fees again ?
Any help on this issue is highly appreciated.

Yes pending 485 at TSC.
The IRS can't produce transcripts older than 3 years.
There's a form you can fill out and pay $39/return and takes up to 60 days, but even on this one it says: "records older than 7 years may not be available as it's admissable by law that they be distroyed".

It all depends on the company you work for. A friend of mine told me recently that small /mid size companies in Delhi can pay 3 lakh -4 lakh per annum to a developer with 3-4 year experience from an average college.
I guess a lot depends on where you graduate from, presentation skills and work experience. An NIIT or some small institute graduate cannot get as much as an IITian. However in USA even an NIITian can do well.
So it is all not that rosy that a lot think. Not everyone gets into Microsoft or IBM india. You have to compete with MS/PhD in computer science for the same job that needs BS in big companies due to high rate of competition and unemployment.

I got my Green card in mail yesterday. I want to thank IV and everyone for all the support during this GC journey. I wish everyone all the best for their green card process. I wish everyone gets to file 485 irrespective of priority dates and ultimately get their green cards. I am sorry that your calls were not returned. I am one of the state chapter leaders, and I am working remote supporting the core team.
To tell you the truth, I know it is crazy at the Situation room. Everyone is very busy trying to keep up with 134 appointments we have sceduled today and also training all the folks that are coming in for these meetings. Everything except the most important tasks are falling through the cracks since the volunteers are overloaded.

Of the 3 the first one is my pick. Nature has little regard for keeping things level and plumb, so the shot has a slightly tilted feel to it. On the second one, it feels a bit cramped and probably would have benefitted by a bit more of the sky - perhaps by shooting from a lower angle.
