But the whole process of sending to NSC and then transferring it to TSC is ridiculous..just waste of resources and time. Althought, they have realized the mistake and now allowing for direct filing.

You may want to focus on (and be thankful for) what you have out of the following:
1. Good health (which we often take for granted)
2. US born kids (at least they are citizens, if that's important to you)
3. US education (a different experience for sure)
4. Good savings (all said and done, your bank balance is very important no matter where you stay in the world)
5. Good work experience (this is transferable and more or less ensures a decent future)
6. Loving/caring family/friends (who will always love you the same and couldn't care less about GC or citizenship)
This obviously is not a all-inclusive list. You may have your own things to add here. To me, having all these priceless gifts on the one hand and not having a GC on the other is clearly lopsided for you to be happy!
And after all, we are not "permanent" residents of anywhere, right? :) So, why attach more than necessary importance to a piece of paper during our prime time?

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?

I think one need to create database based on who came in what year and what is the priority data's . True there are people like me came in 2000 and still has priority date as Dec 2004, this is not my fault, this is forced by GC process tied with employer.
The landing or start date of H1b/L1B + old priority date should be the real beneficiary of spillover in respective of EB.

I am in same situation who has sept 10th ND from TSC , no FP for me or my wife. I did open a SR and i got a response letter saying that either your FP has expired or clearance has not been received.. will send one by mail soon.
It has already been 45 days since the letter was dated. NO FP nothing.
Has going to IO helped anybody is getting a FP notice? That seems my last resort.
No update from my side. I had called last week and week before that. Apparently I got the same IO the last two times and first time she told me no FP scheduled , security check cleared. Second time she said no FP scheduled and I asked about security check and she said its still pending. Imagine same IO giving inconsistent information regarding my security check. I am not even sure to believe anything they say anymore. I am not even sure if they really look it up or not.

Nope. Vast majority including EB-2s do not disagree with porting, even though they might not be very vocal about it.

EAD Renewal - Receipt Date - Jul 8th, 2008
Notice Date - Jul 9th, 2008
CPO E-mail - Aug 26th, 2008
Total processing time - 49 days
Don't know if it's one or two years validity. Will post once I receive the physical cards.

My 485 was filed with NSC on June 1st. It reached NSC on June 4th. We haven't received any receipts so far. I think NSC is still working on June 1st cases. Maybe I need to wait for one more week atleast

I agree absolutely. Living right here near DC and being a victim of the present USCIS mess, I still did not know about this campaign until a family member from India mentioned about it after reading it in the local newspaper.
I quickly signed up on this site and sent the flowers to be delivered yesterday.
I think the biggest 'thank you' belongs to Chidananda Rajghatta of the Times of India as far as the media is concerned. After all, it was his report in TOI that lit a fire under this campaign!

If there is a revised bulletin which shows that your Priority Date is retrogressed then your's will be thrown off ....
I mean you missed a golden opportunity because you had whole of June
to file - i know its not your fault , just stating the Fact.
Yeah, I know my life sucks. I have a priority date of Jan 2003. Got filed under EB3 even though did MS here... I begged and pleaded that they atleast send it on Jan 28th. For god's sake, I was qualified all the way since June 1st. I gave all the documents necessary by June 6th itself. Well, but they had to file on 29th.

I came to US in 1996 as a student and graduated in 1999. Since then I have switched jobs and I am currently with a Priority date of oct, 2006(EB2). Even within this employer first they filed under EB3 even though it could have been filed under EB2 (Not becasue they are bad - becasue the employer don't know much about immigration). After I requested the employer, they filed a new labor on Oct, 2006. So if the priority date is based on the years of experience, it will be nice for me. But the main issue that all of us are facing is VISA availabilty. If this can be taken care, all of the issues will be taken care
Overall the current immigration system is screwed-up. It really needs a major change. That is the main problem

My situation is similar too.
The employer is not ready to file the 485, thinking that I may leave the company after 6 months.
I have the I-140 receipt notice , but no approval notice.

What if you assure him by signing a 2 year bond. Once you get the card, give him the finger

Just reading this thread, so not sure if I can attend today.
Will surely attend the rally with my wife on July14th.
Just a thought..Why not request all our GC/citizen friends to also attend?
I will persuade all my friends to attend.
If not anything, they can see it as a nice stroll in the downtown.
