Should we do call the sponsor of this act? The dream act supporters list the senators that are on the fence, and urge them to call and I think we need to start call the main players like Reid, Schumer, Menendez to get them behind our provisions. Guys, I finally got my notices today after 9 months. I called customer service on numerous occasions and opened 2 SR. Most recently, after my case was transferred to NSC, I called the service center on 04/28 and finally they scheduled me. I got an LUD on 04/28 after the call and another one on 04/29. Today I have the notices in my hand with an appointment date of 05/13.
If you're still waiting for your notices, call the service center, explain your situation and don't stop calling until you see an LUD on your case.

I also did the same thing. I got the scan copies from my lawyer. Print out will work (IO will verify yr name on receipt with yr photo Id).

One quick question - I do not have original 485 receipts with me but have scanned copies of them which my lawyer has emailed me. If I print them out and take them to the infopass, is that sufficient or do they ask for the original receipts?

You have still not answered my question - where did you get the idea that I am here self imposing high standards? You have talked about everything else but that. So you have decided to take refuge by not answering the main reason why I said you are making accusations.

My guess is Eb3 India will not be current this year. From other Law firm site I observe that we will see mini version of what happend last year so I guess Eb2 I will be current .. ( Not because I am Eb2 ( I ) ) . Eb3 ROW will be C guys soon..

Just want to see what kind of question they were askied coming back to USA.

I did not land yet. Planning to give away canada PR. Its too much of risk being on AP/EAD. I have too many things on stake in US like Home, Nice Jobs for me and my wife..don't want to risk all that.
As it is i don't think I will ever settle in Canada, i had applied at a time when my US labor was stuck in backlog for almost 5 years but now things have changed and if i ever have to leave US I think I will go back to my home country; as it is after being here for 8 years I don't have energy to start all over again in some new country.
What have you decided? do you know the procedure to get landing fee back?

I was working on DC but so far just received 30 votes..
Like I said I will talk to core members if only we have 1000 members who wants to do it in DC on July 14th.. So many members are online but they don't even want to take a poll.. I don't know what to expect from members..

That is a good start. We had around 14 people on 07/07 demonstration but it was fun. Thirty is double that. I will keep you posted on what strategy we are following in Bay area. I will also request the Chinese member to post about the local event in DC once we finalize the logistics today evening.

-Reach out to ALL lawmakers, target who are susceptible (Sen. Brown from MA for example)

Yes, we have to wait for CIR to die. Sooner the better, because once House Republicans start holding hearings on CIR, this slow death for CIR might stretch beyond July. Extended mockery of house legistlative process will leave us hanging in a limbo.
Once this CIR charade is over we can move a new bill with only legal immigration provisions through Senate. Hopefully, Democrats will regain House majority this November. Even if they don't, this will be a litmus test for house republicans who have been so vocal in supporting the streamlining of legal immigration.

Well, culture has tremendous impact on people. Looking at the state of our country, what have we become in last 63+ years? Major percentage of population still live under poor living conditions. We are one of the most corrupted countries in the world. Some people want to live in denial. Boasting about greatness that doesn't exist is of no use to the current and future generations. We have to make our country great by changing the conditions. In order to do that, first we need to acknowledge that there are serioous issues. Unless we all unitedly agree that the conditions are pathetic and will worsen, nothing is going to change.
Agree 100%. You have to acknowledge that there is a problem before you can fix it. And I have no shame in accepting that there are problems. I am also proud of where India has reached in the last 20 years or so (especially since some of the purely socialist policies became capitalist leaning). Today Indians are giving Americans some serious and tough competition for jobs, not an easy feat. According to me, things are always grey - there is no black and white. So be proud of your achievements, and learn to accept problems and work on them is my motto in life.
I consider myself a pro-business and a not-so-emotional person. I go where I see a business opportunity. Right now I see great opportunities waiting to be grabbed in India, and I am going back in pursuit of them. India or the US - I know that I will be happy in either place. Like someone said earlier, happiness can be found anywhere, as long as your priorities are straight and you know what they are.

My employer says EVL is not required for 485 filing. How do I make him understand that it is required? Any links from USCIS website or any authentic info will be helpful. I searched and couldn't find it!! TIA
