I may be wrong on Q2 but on Q1 I am 100% certain that unless you file your 485 under the new fee structure ($1010), you will have to pay the new EAD fee each year when you renew your EAD.
Can someone else confirm this too? For Q2, I think you are wrong. Take this case....
Primary is on H1, derivative on H4, both apply for AOS, primary goes on EAD (thus invalidating H1, and in turn spouse's H4). So, the spouse just has AOS receipt number, and no H4. Is she out of status? Of course not. This is a very common scenario.

is a TB skin test neccessary even if you tell the doc you've had a history of positive TB tests? do i have to prove i've had a history of postive TB test for the doctor to remark that on i-693..or can he just remark that without evidence and go on my word

Your chest xray was negative so you are fine.
To file for the 485 the skin test is a requirement. The doc has to prick you on your arm and in 48 hours you have the results.
You need him to sign off on the results.

Hi EveryOne,
I got my Green card in mail yesterday. I want to thank IV and everyone for all the support during this GC journey. I wish everyone all the best for their green card process. I wish everyone gets to file 485 irrespective of priority dates and ultimately get their green cards. This is a question to Admin, i have a recursive donation going on, I would like to make a one time donation and stop the recursive donation.

Yes, it is possible.. However you can apply for extension for one year only. If your I-140 is approved, you can apply for extension for 3 years.
I suggest the following:
1) Apply for your I-140 at the earliest. There is a possibility that your I-140 will be approved before end of May.
2) If I-140 gets approved by end of May, apply for H1B extension for 3 years
3) Else apply for I-140 extension for 1 year based on your approved Labor

Isnt Labor & I 140 property of the employer and labor can be transferred to some one else (not allowed now but was in past) the employee comes into picture only at the 485 stage and that is when the intent should be looked into. Its a pretty complicated question so lawyer is the best person to answer.

WTF are you talking about, man??? It was said hundreds times: once one use EAD, h(is|er) H(1|4) is GONE!!! Per my lawyer, if you filed H1 extension before expiration, you are ok, in this case ext. filing date make sense.
H1 status does end when you use the EAD, but that does not mean that you can never ever go back to H1. By getting a new petition, or your extension approved, and possibly having to re-enter the US, you can reactivate the H1 anytime. Its not all a one-way street.

The same happened to me in Oregon. Though they have all immigration information about me the person is not able to see/understand and asked me to come after 10days.
Normally they take 5-6 days if they are really expecting some info.
Try calling after few days and check with different officer. Not all of the DMV staff are trained to understand all aspects of immigration.

Dear IV Members,
I know this is an immigration forum but I thought if I can get some valuable advice.
A couple of days back, the police forced into our apartment saying that they have heard a complain about domestic violence. I was surprised because the only thing that happenned was that our child was crying during that time. They came inside and started searching our small apartment and started to interogate me. In our bedroom, there is space where we keep our deities and do Puja. My wife is a little bit more religious than me - so she requested them not to go to that space with shoes on. However, they did not listen and just went wherever they wanted. This I think is a disrespect to other culture. Later, when they did not find anything, they just left. We were dumb-founded. We were scared too.... In our building, we are the only Indian/foreigner. This might probably leave a permanant scar in the child's mind when he sees his father interrogated for nothing.
Can someone advice if we can take the matter to someone? Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.
Why are u putting unrelated stuff here. You can always consult a lawyer for lawsuit
if u feel. Ofcourse nothing is free. U will need to pay a lawyer for that.

However I have not received any confirmation or a file number yet since it takes 2 months. We are all aware of what going on at the Senate floor and also about the ammendments that put forth on the floor. So my question is clear anc simple what ammendment is supported by CORE IV and what are we looking for.
Because the passing of the current version of the bill will effect all the old cases which many people are in and I wont allow that to happen. I will try my best to avoid this situation to happen. Even though i have a MAster in engineering I will not support SKIL progran that will void the previously pending cases. Good try core IV yto make member to work towards the betterment of few people You know what such people are called" SELFFISH". Guys beware on whaT ACTIONS YOU ARE DOING SO THAT YOU WONT REPENT.
Please feel free to influence any bill any way you please. Seems like you are in cotrol of your destiny. When you point that SELFISH finger at the IV core, also look at the three fingers pointing back at you.
The IV position on the pertinent amendments already discussed on the floor is on the the front page of the website.
If your are privy to the amendments being negotiated behind the scenes, please be kind and share the information with us. None of us has any information on these and as such cannot take a position.

Just wanted to know if some one like me who have masters or more (phD) in Engineering and have backgorund in bioprocessing or food processing as well as research and academics . What may be the best IT options.
Reason I am asking is with current PhD and Academic jobs it is lot less pay (say in around 50 K). So wanted to explore other option if some how get laid off or fired one day which may be comming soon in a year or so.
though I had not done any programmming any day, I did little bit in my bachelors and at that time I thought I can do it well. But than really never had chance to work on programming stuff, as worked more with applied engineering in bio and food area.
